You know, people are always tellin' me about how Bad Motor Finger is the best Soundgarden album. I think all those people are wrong. Superunknown is absolute perfection from beginning to end. And this song in particular just absolutely fucking rules.

Yeah, I could do without Kickstand. Maybe Spoonman too. Having said that, love it. I can't decide if I like Badmotorfinger or Superunknown more.

I don't have expectations of another Badmotorfinger or Superunknown, but if they can pull of something equal to Down on the Upside with the new album, I'll be very happy. My reserved excitement about this is mostly based on the fact that Chris Cornell hasn't put out anything decent in a dozen years, but on the other hand I'm really curious to find out if Kim Thayil still has it after all this time of...doing what? Hanging out on his couch?

August 16, 2012 10:17 Soundgarden confirm their comeback album will be released in November Kim Thayil promises that the band's first album in 16 years will be 'a little weird'

Soundgarden have confirmed that their long-awaited comeback studio album will be released in November.

The grunge veterans, who split up in 1996, last released an album in that same year and have been working on its follow-up since they reunited in 2010.

Speaking to Rolling Stone about their new album, guitarist Kim Thayil promised that the band's as yet untitled new LP will be "little weird". He also confirmed a release date of November 12 in the UK and November 13 in the US for the record.

Asked about the album, Thayil said: "It re-establishes that we still rock, we're still heavy, and we're still a little weird." He also confirmed that tracks titled 'Blood On The Valley Floor' and 'A Thousand Days Before' will appear on the record. Speaking about the latter, Thayil described it as "a little Indian thing and some chicken-pickin'. We call it 'country and eastern.'"

The story of Hiro is kind of crazy..if what I have heard is true...ask Darth Paul he started the rumors back on the old Soundgarden message board when that came out in '88...

This is one of my favorite songs. The guitar tone is the best I've ever heard.
