I can't believe i only just got into Blind Melon, i love love love their album "Soup." Blind Melon is a band i've heard about forever but finally took the time to listen to.  Shannon Hoon was such a brilliant singer, just unbelievable.  What a goddamn shame that dude died so early.

Does anybody else here dig this band?

Yeah, I like them. Blind Melon and Screaming Trees are two of the most overlooked bands of that era.

The live version of "soup" at Woodstock 94 is amazing. I don't think Shannon made it too much longer after that.

I saw 'em live here in Milwaukee shortly before his death. There was hardly anyone at the show. I remember it being a pretty good time.

That was like 2 or 3 weeks before he died, wasn't it?

Too bad. One of the great losses.

Soup is absolutely amazing!... they're so underrated, bc of "No Rain"... but yes, their performance of it at Woodstock 94 (while he was tripping on acid), and the whole set for that matter (ESPECIALLY Time!!!), is fucking astounding!!!... that's really what turned me onto Blind Melon... that woodstock set... then Soup blew my fucking mind!... :D

There were a few songs on the first album that probably gave people the wrong impression about them. Oh well, their loss.
