I thought it's the # character that bugs it

Yes, you're right. I was tired. And the way I see it, I can't do anything about it for now. So please avoid those or use tinyurl! Sorry. edit: The fact that the label also isn't properly displayed as well, is due to the "url button thingy" actually being kinda redundant, because every typed url is automatically transformed into a clickable one. So is that, which would have been the label and the hiccup occurs again at the '#' character. It's only useful, if you want to label a link differently than the actual url. Like so: Awesomeness!

Right... I was trying to label it as "Calendar Release Party" to avoid having to explain that that's what the link was for.

If I remember correctly the # character is a "special" character used to enter the password in the URL line, after the #, a password is expected (but I might be wrong).

Jason mentioned this to me the other day... He was trying to find this site, since I mentioned it to him in passing, and he said it doesn't seem to come up in a google search. For example, try "Dax Riggs forum". It's not even in the first ten pages. Is that just because of site traffic, or lack thereof?

I googled "A Board With No Name", and found it in the top 4. , but what are the odds ppl will google it like this? Does someone remember google's criteria? I suspect I got it on my first 4, /c it's in my cache, but maybe I'm just BSing.

He said he tried "Dax Riggs forum" and "Deadboy forum"... maybe even "Acid Bath forum"... pretty much what you'd expect the average person to enter.

Most searches I've ran, were getting the full string first and only then variation on the string. The full strings you've mentioned are not here. But I guess you're right, the traffic is too low.

We need to get a decent domain in order to get more exposure. Plus more traffic and some other sites linking here. That would definitely help. Google however has moved past ranking sites by how many links pointing to them, but I don't know, what the other factors are. Maybe we should consult Google about this.

I'll leave that up to anyone here who is smarter about the computing world than me. I just wanted to mention it, so y'all can address it and hopefully get more traffic here.

im planning on building another page like Deathsgarden on myspace.. maybe call it "a page with no name".. ill put some links on the page directing people here.. and ill give the sign-in info to all the admin/mods. that way any of us can be on there adding people and leaving message etc.. that should help get some people here. |

ill need some help with a bio... it needs to be real nice and informative. the rest of the stuff i can handle.. though, it'd be real nice if whoever made the banner here, could make one the same way but with "page with no name" instead of "board".. it would look real nice at the top of the page.
